The Filam Authors Night was held last October 29, at the Phililppine Expressions Bookshop, in San Pedro CA. The event, graced by the new Philippine Consul General in LA, Hon. Edgar B. Badajos, finally pushed through after being postponed due to the pandemic.
The other speaker for the evening was Dr. Rachel Salazar Parrenas, professor at the University of Southern California. She was the recipient of the "2021 Author of the Year Award" from the Philippine Expressions Bookshop. She also launched her book during the occasion.
I, and other Filipino-American authors present in the occasion got an opportunity to talk about our books. I also got to meet fellow writers during the occasion. It was an amazing night as I was able to exchange notes with other authors and feel energized and inspired as a result.
